Monday, 1 May 2013: Thirty Days Old.
Building on our revelation about bright colours and fun sounds, Ayla now seems to be crying for our attention.
I was warned that this might happen at the four week mark and I was told its because Ayla’s realised she’s out of the womb now and is craving human contact for comfort.
I think it’s also because her brain is growing so quickly she wants to spend her awake time learning about the world around her.
It’s a bit of a challenge to find a balance though… We want to pick her up and play with her when she’s awake but we don’t want to create a habit where we pick her up every time she cries. But then again hearing her cry and knowing we can do something about it is heartbreaking and picking her up makes her instantly quiet!
