Thursday, 16 January 2014: Two Hundred and Ninety One Days Old.

Ayla has been getting mistaken for a boy!

I don’t know if it’s because she’s almost always shirtless with just a nappy on, or if maybe it’s because Ayla’s hair is has somehow grown itself into a darn near perfect short back and sides.

But regardless, I even had a workman call Ayla a “he” yesterday… and she was in the bath!

It’s funny how upset I’ve been getting about it. I mean, I know it’s sometimes hard to tell the difference between boys and girls when they’re just little babies but surely Baby Ayla is girly?!

Isn’t she?!

It’s driven me to put Ayla in pink shirts more often now, and to dress her as prettily as possible when we go out, simply because I can’t bear the thought of someone else stopping me in the street to say “ohhhh, isn’t HE cute”!

I am also hoping Ayla’s straight blonde locks have a growth spurt soon so that I can give up on the fight against headbands and try out some pretty clips or something.

I know it’s silly and I really shouldn’t care – Ayla certainly doesn’t – but to me Ayla is a perfect porcelain princess and I want the world to see it too!
