Precious

Ayla learned how to give a massaaaaaage today.

On our way back to the hotel after our morning walking Ayla fell asleep on Hubby’s head again so I seized the opportunity and snuck in for a massage while he put her to bed in our room.

But in staying true to Murphy’s Law Ayla decided she didn’t actually want a nap at all (she must have been “faking” her sleep on Dad’s shoulders!) and I was only about half way through my massage when Hubby and Ayla peeled back the curtain.

Ayla was a little frightened at first I think, watching a strange lady poke and prod her Mummy but after a little while Ayla worked out “if you can’t fight ’em, join ’em!”

With Hubby on the massage mattress beside me, Ayla kept swapping between us helping the massage lady out; if I was getting massaged on my legs, Ayla would be at my legs slapping and pulling at the skin, and when the lady was doing my shoulders Ayla thought it would be funny to tickle me under my arms!

The result was one oil, slippery, happy but tired little baby and not surprisingly when Ayla actually went down for a nap she was slept for a good couple of hours.

When Ayla resurfaced we headed to some night time beach markets at Patong Beach that we had passed yesterday on our way to Fantasea.

It was great! There was everything from carnival games, to shopping stalls, a jumping castle, live music and what seems to be the Thai equivalent of takeaway food… Meat on a stick.

We had a fantastic evening, stuffing our faces with random delicacies, shopping up a storm and having fun with the games.

Hubby even won Ayla a couple of stuffed toys and I’ll never forget seeing her hang off my hip holding on to one of the prizes like it was the most precious, sacred thing in the world.

Winners!

Saturday, 15 March 2014: Three Hundred and Forty Eight Days Old.

Our house is full of winners today!!

Hubby won his charity boxing fight, our babysitter won our trust and Baby Ayla won yet another gold star from her Mum and Dad.

It was fantastic to have a stress- free adult night out with our friends, even though it didn’t quite start out like that!

The babysitter turned up 5 mins early and we took her through Ayla’s dinner, her bedtime routine and most importantly, how to use the TV.

We all moved out the front to wait for a taxi we’d booked the day before but it never came.

As the clocked ticked closer and closer to the event starting time and Hubby got more and more anxious, we made nearly ten calls to the company who kept sending us new taxis, to no avail.

After half an hour of waiting we asked the babysitter to drive us and within seconds we were all bundled into my little hatch heading to the fight.

We arrived and jumped out of the car, gave Ayla a kiss and told her to be good then waved as the babysitter drove off in my car with our baby in the back!

I figured if I could do that then I had nothing much else to worry about for the night, and I was right!!

The babysitter text as soon she got back to our house, and then again when Ayla went to sleep around 8pm, just like normal.

Knowing that Ayla was safe at home, tucked up in bed, meant I was free to cheer Hubby on til I was hoarse!

We came home around 11.30pm and Ayla had just woken up. We found her cuddling into the babysitter on the couch, which meant we got to give her proper goodnight kisses and cuddles.

It was a great night.

Ayla needs your help!

Wednesday, 5 March 2014: Three Hundred and Thirty Eight Days Old.

I finally did it. I finally crossed the blurry line between blogging and bragging by entering Baby Ayla in a photo comp.

I guess most of you haven’t even batted an eyelid at this statement though because you figured it was only a matter of time before I subjected Ayla to a public vote!!

But it’s not just me who thinks Ayla’s adorable! Is it?!

I’m hoping that Ayla’s fan club (Ayla’s Angels I like to call you) will help her gain recognition as the cutest baby in Australia and if not well, we all know she’s awesome anyway!!

The Bonds Baby Competition is one of the biggest in Australia and there’s five People’s Choice awards up for grabs!

So please cast your vote!

It only takes a few seconds and its easy to unsubscribe from the mailing list afterwards if you want too (but Bonds do have some great online sales!)

Thanks in advance! 🙂
